Featured as virtual voice assistant MBJ Wetware, artist Marija Bozinovska Jones teams up with musician J. G. Biberkopf to create a live audio-visual performance employing a range of spoken and programming languages. Fascia, a term used to denote both organic and structural architecture, engages the relational matrix of contemporary existence within techno-capitalist infrastructures. The 18100619013 instalment explores formative and exploitative processes of affect as they manifest in quantification, datafication, self-optimization, and artificial intelligence. The voice interface investigates degrees of sensoriality by mimicking Jones’ voice as it articulates fragments of factual, statistical, and algorithmic content. These fragments depict the dispersed nature of—and different possibilities for—contemporary acts of individual and collective becoming as calculated by computational means.
